The Time I decided to ‘Headout’ of London.

As an expat living in London I have the pleasure of seeing this city through tourist eyes while simultaneously having the time to explore all its nooks and cranies. Sometimes I crave explorations a bit further out of the capitol. Luckily Headout has loads of options for daytrips out of London. Recently I went on the Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon, & Oxford Tour. Unofficial dubbed the tapas tour by our tour guide, this Headout tour would give us just a taste of each stop starting with Warwick Castle.

A perfect spot for a family day out, Warwick Castle was built in 1068 and has interiors that includes replicas a few of its famous inhabitants.

Outside, you’ll find a soft play area, hedge maze, archery school, live action jousting, and falconry demos among so much more. We only had about 90 minutes at the Castle which was just enough time for use to tour the interior and have lunch. From there we headed to Stratford-upon-Avon.

Known as the birthplace of Shakespeare, Stratford is a lovely river village filled with history, fab pubs, and loads of shops.

As part of our tour, we had entry to the Shakespeare Museum which included a tour of his childhood home - a must visit.

After visiting the museum and home we browsed a few shops and enjoyed an ice cream before heading to our meeting point and were off to our next location, Oxford.

A quick, scenic ride through the Cotswolds and we were in Oxford, walking the cobble stone streets of academia. While the rest of the group toured the Sheldonian Theatre, I decided to explore the city on my own.

It is safe to say, each location is worth a full day’s time, but this ‘tapas tour’ allowed us to see three popular day trip locations in one go. If we are visiting London, this trip is perfect. If you live in London and want to see more than just the capitol, this is a great trip.
